General Email Instructions

An email client is a program that you can use to view, store, and send email using your Indra email account. The process for setting up your email in one of the programs varies depending on which software you are using, but the following credentials will be necessary at some point in the process.

There are two different “protocols” for handling email: POP & IMAP.  We highly recommend using IMAP, and these credentials reflect those settings.

IMAP PROTOCOL (Recommended)
  • Incoming:
    • Server: mail.indra.com
    • Port: 993 for IMAP
    • SSL Enabled
    • Username: <address@domain.com>
    • Password: <generated password>
  • Outgoing:
    • Server: smtp.indra.com
    • Port: 465
    • SSL Enabled
    • Username: <address@domain.com>
    • Password: <generated password>

Note: If you are using an Internet connection that is not with Indra’s Net, you will have to enable SSL encryption and SMTP authentication in order to send mail through our outgoing mail server. If you need help adjusting these settings in your specific mail program or need any other additional assistance, please feel free to contact us.
